Lucban Academy is the first private non-sectarian secondary
school in Lucban, Quezon. It was founded on May 15, 1947 by
Atty. Mariano V. Eleazar, Francisco Pineda and Rizalino Racelis.
The school was first named as Lucban Institute and the first school site
was at Concepcion St. Later it was transferred to its present location at
77 San Luis St., Barangay 8, Poblacion.
The first School Director was Atty. Mariano V. Eleazar and the first
school Principal was Francisco Pineda. The school started with seven
faculty members and two hundred fifty-one students. The institution was
officially recognized by the Department of Education with Recognition
No. 372 s. 1948. Two other past principals were Jacobo Eleazar and
Gregoria Pedron.
In 1995 and 2000 the two four-story BE and MVE buildings were
constructed respectively. Currently, Belen Eleazar Building houses
sixteen (16) academic classrooms, two (2) science laboratories, two
(2) computer laboratories and one TLE kitchen. The Mariano V. Eleazar
Building houses a mini-gym on the roof deck, eight classrooms, a library,
an AVR, clinic, and Management Information System (MIS) Offices. The
Administration Building houses the Offices of the Principal, the Guidance
center and the two Faculty rooms.
On August 8, 2018 the institution celebrated its 71st Foundation
anniversary. It celebrated its dedicated years of quality educational
service to Lucban community and the neighboring towns of Tayabas
and Sampaloc of Quezon and Luisiana and Majayjay of Laguna.
From the initial years up to the present, Lucban Academy has been
producing graduates who excel in their chosen vocations and careers.
